MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL 

re. MASS TIME CHANGES

Greetings,

As a Parish Pastoral Council, our mission is to look ahead and support the spiritual and logistical needs of our growing parish family. Because the Holy Spirit is working deeply in our community, we are experiencing a wonderful 'problem' as our number of parishioners is rapidly growing.

To better accommodate everyone, keep our community thriving, and ensure our liturgies remain deeply reverent, we are announcing a change to our Sunday Mass schedule. We will be moving to three Sunday Masses at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 1:00 PM. Please note that our Saturday evening Mass will remain exactly the same. To prepare our hearts for this transition, the new schedule will be phased in this August.

Father JB and the Council looked closely at our current schedule and realized we need a more reasonable timeframe between our services. Spacing these Masses out achieves a few vital goals:

1. Better Accessibility: It frees up traffic and ensures our limited handicap parking spots are fully available for those who need them before the next Mass begins.

2. Community Hospitality: It allows for a relaxed 'coffee time' and parishioner crossover, so we can actually build relationships instead of rushing out of the parking lot.

3. Respite for Father JB: Quite often, Father JB has absolutely no rest between Masses. This new schedule gives him much-needed breathing room to recharge, pray, and have a hot cup of coffee.

4. Volunteer and Faith Formation: It gives our dedicated staff and volunteers time to prepare the sanctuary properly. Crucially, it also creates dedicated time slots for new adult and family faith formation activities so we can continue growing in our faith together.

Ultimately, this change is about the quality of our worship. More time between Masses means less rushing. It ensures we all have the opportunity to arrive on time, settle our hearts, and be fully ready to accept the Holy Spirit. Change is not an easy thing, so we ask for your prayers, your patience, and feedback.
